The new edifice of the high school has been created to complement the Bethel's campus of the secondary and high schools. It is organized around three courtyards (gardens) dedicated to school events, art and recreation. The courtyards are integrated with other public spaces and campus buildings. Thanks to the synergy between the old and the new developments, an attractive and safe public space is created.

The pavilion-alike architecture of the building benefits from the altitude of the terrain. The heart of the school is the glazed inner street (schulstrasse) connecting two squares and entrances to the building as well as the school forum – a place of integration of the school community. The secondary school program was situated in a semi-detached wing offering the possibility of independent functioning. The layout of classes and workshops have been developed to profit from natural lighting. The building has implemented many sustained technologies such as photovoltaic panels, ground heat exchanger, heat pumps and low-temperature underfloor heating.
