The Golędzinów Nature Park is both a response to growing urban pressure — with new housing developments emerging nearby — and to the community’s demand for protected green space. Situated on land shaped by the combined forces of the Vistula River and human intervention, the park has no permanent form. Instead, it is a living landscape, continually reshaped by seasonal floods, the river’s flow, and people’s activities. In this way, the park’s design was envisioned as a kind of calendar, marking the natural rhythms of the river and the seasons. All architectural interventions were deliberately minimal and ephemeral, planned to preserve the site’s naturalistic character. As a result, the park stands as a form of environmental protection in the face of increasing anthropopression, offering a space where biodiversity thrives and the needs of the local community for contact with nature are gently and sustainably met.
