Construction of Żerański Park

In issue 6/2025 of Architektura-Murator, Natalia Janek and Joanna Chylak reveal the behind-the-scenes story of the Żerański Park currently under construction along the Żerański Canal in Warsaw. This 1.5 km stretch of new urban waterfront combines recreational functions with port heritage and ecological values.

The project tackles a unique challenge: how to create a contemporary park that not only respects existing ecosystems — the plants and animals that have already made this place their home — but also preserves efficient port infrastructure and the dense network of underground city utilities.
