project: model house type: architecture location: PL size: 66 m² team: Jakub Szczęsny, Marcin Maraszek, Pascal Labelle, Maciej Kaufman status: competition, 2018
The task: design four types of single family houses under 80 m².
Objectives:
1. A house that evolves along with a family without the need to extend outwards. The proposed building system is based on two types of ground floor layout and two pitched roofs. As the family grows, the children grow up, the need for greater intimacy occurs, the status of the family increases, the attic can be adapted for an additional bedroom with a separate bathroom. In this person, the house evolves along with the family without the need to build new external parts and legal permits.
2. A house that allows different urban configurations. The house is the basic module of urban planning. It allows to develop neighborhoods and estates without a threat of mechanical repetition and monotony.
3. A house that allows for high building intensity and saving of land. The system allows to achieve maximum building intensity for a terraced housies up to 151 m² of single building plot, which gives 52 housing units per 1 ha. Thanks to this, we can provide more homes for families in need when minimizing the expenditure on plots!
4. A house that is cheap to build and use. Prefabricated timber walls and roofs allows to reduce costs.
5. A house that is fast and easy to construct. The whole construction process takes up to 8 weeks!
